Overview

Address: 60 Simsbury Road, Avon, CT 06001

Parking: Generally easy, but can fill up during busy game times.

Bathrooms: Porta potties only

Food: There is a snack shack on site, but it is rarely open—plan to bring your own food and drinks.

Shade: Limited shade. There are a few shaded spots, but most seating areas are fully in the sun.

Seating: Limited bleachers at most fields (none at the Machine Pitch field). Bring a chair to be safe.

Notes:

A pretty easy field overall, but not the best setup for multiple games in a day. There’s limited shade and food options, so plan ahead.

Fields are generally well maintained, and the complex is fairly easy to navigate. Most fields are close to the parking lot, so you can usually get by without a cart—but if you’re bringing a lot of gear for the day, it’s still worth having one.

There’s a nice walking trail behind the fields, which is great if you need to get steps in or keep siblings busy. You’ll also find small open areas between fields where kids can kick or throw a ball.

One thing to be aware of: there have been issues with wasps building nests along the fence lines, so it’s worth keeping an eye out, especially with younger kids.

Getting out of the complex is generally straightforward, but there is a traffic light at the exit and it can back up a bit after games finish.

Bonus: there’s a Whole Foods Market nearby if you need food, drinks, or a real bathroom.

Summary:

A solid, no-frills field that works well for single games—but you’ll want to come prepared if you’re there all day.
